Lab Focus: making immunotherapy work for more patients

We are a group of immunologists, cancer biologists and clinicians dedicated to the discovery of novel approaches to stimulating the immune system to attack cancer. The development of immune-stimulating therapies including antibodies targeting the PD-1 axis has revolutionized cancer care. However, many patients do not benefit from these drugs. We work together to improve the immunotherapy options available to cancer patients. We also work hard to support each other to grow as scientists and thrive outside of the lab.

The Ishizuka lab is committed to ensuring a diverse, safe and inclusive environment. We welcome everyone regardless of race, nationality, age, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, physical or mental ability, or socioeconomic status to join us in our efforts to make discoveries and help patients. We believe that the differences in our backgrounds and approaches to the world compound to drive novel modes of thought and to fundamentally change the science that we do for the better.
